My most recent Chicagoland spec ad for Complete Nutrition. The client wanted to appeal to 35-55 year old women. So I wanted it to look more sophisticated and crisp. I incorporated an active woman with one of their fat burning products. This was a PD double sided, glossy.

MERCEDES OF ORLAND PARK & IBENZ P-O-P

In April of this year, I was asked to do a freelance spec ad for a local business called, Red Dove Innovation. They install iPads into Mercedes and wanted a spec ad to present to Mercedes of Orland Park. We came up with the idea of “iBenz” and put this 2 sided, POP together. The size is 6×4.

Value City Furniture

This was initially a spec ad which ended up actually running in “The Lansing State Journal” as well as “Noise” LCN, May 2009. Value City Furniture usually hires a national agency to create all of their ads. Fortunately we were able to sell them this series and it ran in the local paper.

FT Techno of America Brochure

FT Techno of America is an International Proving Ground for car companies, consumer groups and other media institutions. This Queue Advertising brochure was a standard size 6 panel, 3 page piece. October, 2010.

Red Cross

In February of this year, I was assigned to do specs for Red Cross and their “Heroes Campaign”. I researched Red Cross past ads and noticed that their ads, while very creative and incredibly stylistic, were remarkably simple. Incorporating the cross into the ad was essential. So I used the past ads along with The Fed Ex logo as a model and came up with this. Both spec ads are almost identical. I like spec that just says, “Heroes…Give Blood.” because it is more efficient and more effective. My Editor liked the “We are ‘Heroes’…” better.

Queue Advertising Leave Behind

“Impact” for Queue Advertising was my very first professional project not only for Queue Advertising, but in overall. In May of 2008, Queue wanted a small leave behind that showed the “impact” that their agency could bring to any client’s business. I came up with the idea of using Darwin’s Cradle and the complete design for this 6 panel, 2 page leave behind.

Prima Civitas

Both of these are my most recent spec ads that were built for Prima Civitas in March, 2011. Prima Civitas is a financial institution that aids small businesses in getting started. I wanted something conservative and sophisticated to appeal to small business owners. These were typical 10″x10.5″ ads.

Wolbers & Possehn Pools

Wolbers & Possehn ad initially started as a spec ad that later was printed as a glossy, 2 sided PD. W&P used an agency to design their ads in the past, but they were unhappy with the results. So I just reworked the layout with the images they gave me and was pretty successful in conveying the type of message they wanted. This PD is sized as a standard 8.5×11 with a bleed. Published in The Lansing State Journal, April 2011.
